Dakota + Sergio's Engagement Session at the Sutro Baths in San Francisco
Back in December of 2020, I met Dakota and Sergio at the Sutro Baths in San Francisco for a golden hour engagement session. I was a little nervous going into it because 1. I had never photographed there before(!!) and wasn't sure how packed it would be, and 2. I was battling some stomach issues earlier that day and was so worried my stomach was going to act up again once we walked down that very long staircase to the water! Thankfully though, everything worked out and it couldn't have been a more perfect evening. The sunset that night was so beautiful and the sky lit up with all sorts of pinks and yellows and the most dreamy shade of orange. A total photographer's dream!
They were such an easy-going couple and super fun to photograph. The water was so cold in December but they were still game to take their shoes off and run around in it for some sweet beach photos.
I remember telling the two of them that my husband and I had just started trying to have a baby which is possibly why my stomach was acting weird. I wasn't sure if I was pregnant or not. Turns out I wasn't, but I did get pregnant less than a month later! This shoot feels like so long ago now. Hard to believe we'll be welcoming our new baby into the world in just a few short weeks.
Although I'm taking the rest of the year off to bond with our little one, I'm already looking forward to getting back out and photographing couples again. It was such a fun session and I loved editing these photos. If you're reading this and have been itching to do a session at the Sutro Baths - count me in for 2022! ❤️
