Mariah + TJ's Wedding at the Kitsap Conference Center in Bremerton, WA
I first met Mariah and TJ at their venue walkthrough, three months before their wedding. I took a ferry over from Seattle on a rainy April morning. From the minute I met them, I knew they were going to be lovely to work with. They're from Washington originally but currently live in Michigan and flew in for the weekend to meet with vendors and try to plan ahead as much as possible. I know how difficult having an out-of-state wedding can be since my husband and I planned our Wisconsin wedding from Seattle. What a whirlwind! In the months leading up to the wedding, I tried to offer as much advice as possible.
The day of their wedding turned out to be one of the hottest days ever, especially for the PNW. I remember checking the forecast nonstop in the days leading up to the wedding because I refused to believe it was actually going to be almost 90 degrees in Bremerton! We were at least grateful for the sun and felt relieved knowing no rain was expected for their outdoor ceremony.
Despite the crazy heat, their wedding was gorgeous and everyone had the best time. Mariah was such a chill bride! After the DJ's computer fried in the hot sun and we had to tell Mariah she wouldn't have any music to walk down the aisle to, her response was, "Oh, that's fine," and then asked me after the ceremony if the DJ was okay. HA! Props to you, girl. I can't imagine most brides would be that cool. (Thankfully the DJ had a backup for the reception, so it was just a minor hiccup!)
My favorite memory from the day was capturing Mariah and her grandmother dancing together as the wedding was wrapping up. They were the only ones on the dance floor and it was adorable. I definitely wiped a few tears off my cheek!
It was a beautiful day in such a pretty location. Congrats, Mariah + TJ! xo
